The themes of the site continue to draw heavily from nautical maps and imagery, but also try to appeal to the brand’s younger demographic through modern and up-to-date visuals. Take a closer look here The problem with the existing SEVENSTORE website was that it appeared quite cluttered with hard to read headings and navigation menus. The aim for the new site was to create a more streamlined and exciting visual experience for the customer, through bold typography and interactive design.Analysis of similar existing sites, such as GOAT, showed that minimalist design is very effective when it comes to driving demand for exclusive and luxury products. I chose the local fashion retailer SEVENSTORE, as its roots in the city of Liverpool interested me and I wanted to expand on this idea more than the existing identity did. At the moment, many popular streetwear retailers follow a very similar template when it comes to the visual aspects of the brand. I wanted to try and branch away from these trends to really allow SEVENSTORE to stand out among its competitors. With Liverpool having a long and important history as a port city in the UK, my rebrand aimed to focus on the themes of shipping and worldwide cultures. This includes evidence of human rights violations by industry giants such as Nike, to the impact that the materials and processes have on the planet. The idea was to create a way to raise awareness to these issues so that other members of this culture could take them into consideration and perhaps act on it.
